Texas State Technical College at Harlingen has developed this CYBERSECURITY CENTER to showcase the CNST Program and to provide cyber security related resources to students and faculty.
The Computer Networking and Security Technology (CNST) Program is recognized by the Texas Workforce Investment Council (TWIC) for incorporating the Texas Skill Standards for Cybersecurity into the curriculum, and is a member of the National Cyber Watch Center, a consortium of higher education institutions, public and private schools, businesses, and government agencies focused on collaborative efforts to advance cybersecurity education and strengthen the national cybersecurity workforce.

TSTC Legislative Mission Statement
The Texas State Technical College System mission is defined by the Texas State Legislature and published in Vernon’s Texas Education Code Section 135.01: Texas State Technical College System is a coeducational two-year institution of higher education offering courses of study in technical vocational education for which there is demand within the State of Texas. Texas State Technical College System shall contribute to the educational and economic development of the State of Texas by offering occupationally oriented programs with supporting academic course work, emphasizing highly specialized advanced and emerging technical and vocational areas for certificates or associate degrees.
CNST Mission Statement
The Computer Networking and Security Technology Program supports TSTC’s mission by providing a high quality two-year technical associates degree that provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to operate and maintain network systems, implement security controls required to safeguard computer network infrastructures, and respond to computer security breaches using a strong hands-on curriculum and lab environment; Emphasis is on critical/analytical thinking, problem solving skills, and teamwork.
